With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the Directorate General of Taxes, Ali has established himself as a seasoned expert in tax administration and policy. His journey began on March 24, 1990, as a Junior Administrator, quickly rising through the ranks due to his dedication and expertise. In 2002, Ali took on the role of Primary Tax Examiner Expert at the Regional Office of Large Taxpayers. His keen analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of tax laws made him a valuable asset to the organization. By February 2007, he advanced to the position of Head of the Department of Tax Examination, Investigation, and Collection at the Regional Office of South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung Islands. Here, he was instrumental in overseeing crucial tax audits and investigations, ensuring compliance and effective tax collection.
His leadership capabilities were further recognized when he was appointed as the Head of the Primary Tax Office in Palembang Ilir Timur in October 2008, and later in North Karawang in September 2011. In these roles, Ali demonstrated exceptional management skills, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of tax administration in these regions. After a commendable career, Ali retired on May 1, 2012, as per Presidential Decree No. 43/K/2012.

Ali holds a degree in Accounting from the Faculty of Economics, Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), where he graduated on April 11, 1987. He was registered as a State Accountant on August 12, 1988. His commitment to continuous professional development is evident from his participation in various specialized courses, including:
- A short course in Tax Audit at Belastingdienst Opleidingen, Erasmus University Rotterdam, in September 1991.
- The Transfer Pricing Course at the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., USA, in December 2004.
- The Transfer Pricing Course at the OECD Korea Policy Center in Seoul, Korea, in December 2006.

he served.
